Benefits To A Stairlift

Everyone wants to be able to move freely in their home, but that isn’t always possible. Whether it’s through age or an injury, struggling to climb stairs can have a huge impact on how well you’re able to move around your home. Luckily, having a stairlift installed can help in a big way.

  • Stairlifts can prevent accidents among those who struggle to use the stairs.
  • Stairlifts can give you a real sense of independence. Rather than relying on someone’s assistance when travelling up and down stairs, you can come and go as you please using the stairlift.
  • Stairlifts can help friends and family to relax, knowing you are able to move around your home with ease.

Why Choose A Bespoke Stairlift?

If there’s one thing we know a lot about, it’s bespoke stairlifts. Through our experience in this business, we’ve gained an insight into what makes a great stairlift and the hugely positive impact a stairlift can have on someone’s life.

A lot of curved stairlifts on the market are modular, and this means they are available quickly, however, it also compromises the quality of the ride. Our bespoke stairlifts are made to your staircase exactly, and although this means manufacture will take longer, you will benefit from a smoother ascent and descent on your staircase.

Stairlift FAQs

If you’re thinking of having a new stairlift fitted but are hesitating due to doubts or questions, here are some common misconceptions put right.

Is My Staircase Too Narrow?

A common cause for hesitation when contemplating a stairlift is the narrowness of the staircase. We measure the length of the user’s knee in order to ensure that no contact will be made with the opposite wall.

Is The Wall Strong Enough For A Chair Lift?

The weight of the stair lift is distributed entirely across the staircase itself, rather than the wall upon which it ascends. During your free home visit, our surveyor will be able to answer any queries you may have on the readiness of your staircase for a lift.

Will It Work During A Power Cut?

Whereas previously a stair lift relied completely on the electricity mains, modern stairlifts actually run on rechargeable batteries, which are charged by the mains. Therefore, if the power does cut off, your chair will continue to run on the batteries until the power is restored.
